Conference is upon us! We will be hosting the Wabash Valley Swim Conference on July 16 in Berne! Our swimmers need to be at the pool at 7:20 am for warm-ups. Please be there a bit earlier if you need to set up your camping area.

Thank you to everyone who is volunteering and bringing items to help out! This is an event based for our swimmers and it takes everyone to help out! Congrats to each and everyone of the swimmers for being a part of this great event.

Looks like last night’s weather decided to stick around for this morning! Practice is being cancelled for today. Hope you all get to slow down a bit on this dreary morning and take it easy! Great job and thanks to everyone who swam/ volunteered/ and got wet in some manner with us last night! Hopefully next week will be better!

Tomorrow’s First Home Meet!!

Tomorrow will be our first home meet of 2011! We will be hosting NAC. Our swimmers need to be at the pool at 5:00 for warm ups since we are the home team, we warm up first.
This will also be the first meet for our bubble lane swimmers. What we have done in the past, and it’s worked out really well, is to have the bubble lane kids swim FIRST at the very beginning of the meet.
It is very important to have all of our swimmers at the meet on time. This helps with making sure our relays and races are set properly. If you are going to be late, please let Janelle or a committee member know.
Our snack shack will be open and Swim Bucks will be available for swimmers to buy. This is a $5 card that will have your swimmers name on it and the card gets punched off in whatever amounts your child spends that time. It is very helpful so they are not losing change or coming to the parents every few minutes for money. Keep in mind we wil have three home meets plus conference this year.
Parents who are helping out should be at the meet before so you know what job you are doing and where to go to help. And thank you all for volunteering to help. These meets will not go smoothly without each of you!

Celina Pentathlon

Anyone interested in the Celina Pentathlon should let Coach Janelle know as soon as possible. Your swimmer must know each stroke and will swim each at the meet. The meet will be on Saturday, June 25 at 9 am. We must sign up our swimmers soon, so please direct any questions to Janelle.

OUTDOOR PRACTICES

Our practices will be moving to the Berne Pool on June 6th.
Practice times will be as followed:

11 and up- 7:00-8:30
9-10 year olds- 8:30-9:30
8 and under- 9:30-10:30

Meet agreements are still needed and suits can still be ordered! Our first meet will be June 11 at Jay, start time is 9 am so have your swimmer there NO LATER than 8:30.

SASSC practices

Just an update that SASSC practices will start on May 3rd and happen every Tuesday and Thursday at the corresponding times:

9-10 year olds- 3:30-4:30
8 & unders- 5:00-6:00
11 & up- 6:00-7:30

2011 is Up and Coming

Thank you for your interest in the 2011 South Adams Summer Swim Club! We are thrilled to have you or have you back as part of our team. This year is coming up quick and we wanted to share a bit of information with you. I have updated the meet schedule for 2011. Please check it out so you know what our swim season will look like. We understand your swimmer might not make every meet but this will give you a good start on planning your summer.

We also have a parent meeting that will take place on Tuesday, May 17th from 5-7 in the high school commons. This will be registration night for signing up your swimmers, receiving important information and all the great things that go along with being a part of swim team.

The suit try-on will be Monday, Ma7 23rd starting at 5pm. This year we are using PocoLoco swim shop out of Lima as our suit providers. They will be here on Monday night for suit try-on and you will be able to take your suit home with you that evening. This year we are using a Dolphin suit called the Rave. This is a great suit and very colorful (which is what the kids have asked for).

Suit prices are $37 for the girls suit and $25.90 for the boys jammers.

Summer Swim Club Fees are:

$30 for one swimmer
$55 for two swimmers
$75 for three swimmers
$95 for four swimmers

Each swim family will need to buy a Berne City Pool pass for the season, family passes are $120 and a single pass is $75.

Swim Team Picnic

Our annual swim team picnic will be Sunday, July 11th at 4 pm at Lehman Park.

Each family needs to bring a main dish and a side or a desert.

You need to bring your own plates and tableware.

We will provide lemonade, water and some Gatorade.

You will want to bring lawn chairs and possibly a camera for awards.

After the meal we will vote on new committee members and distribute awards.

Each swimmer will receive a medal for participating in swim team this year. If you cannot make it – please find someone that could pick-up your swimmers medal for you.

We will have the coin dive after awards followed by free swim time for your entire family!
